Our school hosted a Parents Seminar addressed by Dr. Wiloba Olanya, a child development specialist who guided parents through three key pillars of raising a purposeful 21st century child. On Positive Self Esteem, he urged parents to intentionally speak identity and value into their children daily, warning that negative labels and constant comparison quietly destroy a child's confidence.

On Cultivating Strengths, he challenged parents to stop focusing on weaknesses and instead discover and feed what each child is naturally gifted at reminding them that every child comes with something, and the parent's job is to find it.

On Communication, he gave five practical tools — create daily talking time, listen more than you speak, ask better questions, never punish honesty, and put the phone down — stressing that children who cannot talk to their parents will simply find someone else to talk to. He closed by reminding parents that a purposeful generation begins with purposeful parenting, and that the most powerful thing any parent can do is live a life worth watching. Parents left the seminar not with guilt but with tools, clarity, and a renewed commitment to show up better for their children.
