Exploring Uganda’s Water Sources

The trip was designed to help pupils understand the importance of water in daily life, environmental conservation, and the country’s natural resources.

During the tour, the children visited different water bodies, where they observed lakes, rivers, wetlands, and protected water points. Teachers guided them in identifying the features of each water source, how communities depend on them, and the importance of protecting these resources from pollution and overuse.

The learners asked questions, took notes, and enjoyed hands-on learning moments as they explored the sites. They also learned about how water is collected, treated, and supplied to homes and schools — giving them a deeper appreciation for the role clean water plays in health and development.

The trip broadened the pupils’ understanding of geography and environmental science while creating memorable outdoor learning experiences. LANPS continues to provide such field activities to ensure learners connect classroom knowledge with real-world observation.
