Light Academy Celebrates Uganda’s Independence Day

Light Academy Nursery & Primary School marked Uganda’s Independence Day with a memorable celebration filled with patriotism, music and learning.

The learners embraced the spirit of national pride by dressing in colourful outfits inspired by Uganda’s national identity, creating a vibrant atmosphere across the school. The celebration was further enlivened by an exciting band performance, bringing rhythm, energy and joy to the occasion.

Beyond the festivities, learners had the opportunity to explore the road to Uganda’s independence, discovering important moments in the country’s history and learning about the journey that led to independence on 9th October 1962. These lessons helped them appreciate the sacrifices made by those who fought for freedom and the importance of unity, peace and national responsibility.

The celebration provided a wonderful opportunity for learners to connect classroom knowledge with real-life experiences. Through music, creativity and historical learning, they gained a deeper appreciation of Uganda’s heritage and the significance of Independence Day.
