Educational Shopping Trip

November 14, 2025

Pupils from Light Academy Nursery and Primary School (LANPS) set out on an exciting and educational shopping experience to some of Kampala’s most popular supermarkets — Embassy Supermarket, Quality Supermarket, and China Town.

The trip was designed to give learners a practical understanding of money handling, budgeting, and basic consumer education, all in a fun, real-world setting. Pupils had the opportunity to interact with staff, read price tags, compare products, and make guided purchases. Many were excited to select their favorite snacks, toys, and school supplies while learning how to manage spending wisely.

Teachers and support staff closely supervised the learners to ensure safety and reinforce learning objectives throughout the trip. Pupils were also introduced to different store sections such as the bakery, fresh produce, electronics, and hygiene aisles — making it a full and immersive learning experience.

By the end of the day, the children returned to school smiling and energized, proudly showing off their purchases and sharing what they had learned. The trip not only enriched their understanding of daily life skills but also created memorable moments of independence, confidence, and joy.
